Adding seeds is a very smart way to add more protein and vitamins into a low calorie diet making it an excellent snacking option.

Breadnut- The breadnut is extremely high in fiber, calcium, potassium, folic acid, iron, zinc, protein and vitamins A, E, C and B. The fresh seeds can be cooked and eaten or can be set out to dry in the sun to roast and eaten later. Stewed the nut tastes like mashed potato, roasted it tastes like chocolate or coffee and can be prepared in numerous other dishes. In Petén, Guatemala, the breadnut is being cultivated for exportation and local consumption as powder, for hot beverages, and bread.

Chia- This seed may be eaten raw as a whole seed, providing protein, fats and fiber. Ground chia seed is sometimes added to pinole, a coarse flour made from toasted maize kernels. Chia seeds placed in water or fruit juice are consumed in Mexico and known as chia fresca. The soaked seeds are gelatinous in texture and are used in gruels, porridges and puddings. Ground chia seed is used in baked goods including breads, cakes and biscuits.

Flax- This seeds contain high levels of dietary fiber including lignans, an abundance of micronutrients and omega-3 fatty acids (table). Flax seeds may lower cholesterol levels, especially in women.Initial studies suggest that flax seeds taken in the diet may benefit individuals with certain types of breast and prostate cancers. A study done at Duke university suggests that flaxseed may stunt the growth of prostate tumors, although a meta-analysis found the evidence on this point to be inconclusive. Flax may also lessen the severity of diabetes by stabilizing blood-sugar levels. You can use this seeds in salads, breads and shakes.

Quinoa- Was of great nutritional importance in pre-Columbian Andean civilizations, secondary only to the potato, and was followed in importance by maize. In contemporary times, this crop has become highly appreciated for its nutritional value, as its protein content is very high (12%–18%). Unlike wheat or rice (which are low in lysine), and like oats, quinoa contains a balanced set of essential amino acids for humans, making it an unusually complete protein source among plant foods. It is a good source of dietary fiber and phosphorus and is high in magnesium and iron. Quinoa is gluten-free and considered easy to digest. Quinoa has a light, fluffy texture when cooked, and its mild, slightly nutty flavor makes it an alternative to white rice or couscous.

From the Official Royal Wedding website:

Miss Catherine Middleton’s Wedding Dress has been designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing. Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen’s work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.

The dress epitomises timeless British craftsmanship by drawing together talented and skilled workmanship from across the United Kingdom. The dress design pays tribute to the Arts and Crafts tradition, which advocated truth to materials and traditional craftsmanship using simple forms and often Romantic styles of decoration. Ms Burton’s design draws on this heritage, additionally giving the cut and the intricate embellishment a distinctive, contemporary and feminine character.

The design

The lace appliqué for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The lace design was hand-engineered (appliquéd) using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Individual flowers have been hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock.

Hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace has been used throughout the bodice and skirt, and has been used for the underskirt trim. With laces coming from different sources, much care was taken to ensure that each flower was the same colour. The whole process was overseen and put together by hand by Ms Burton and her team.

The dress is made with ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The train measures two metres 70 centimetres. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen’s designs. The back is finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops. The underskirt is made of silk tulle trimmed with Cluny lace.

The Fabrics

French Chantilly lace was combined with English Cluny lace to be hand-worked in the Irish Carrickmacross needlework tradition.

All other fabrics used in the creation of the dress were sourced from and supplied by British companies. The choice of fabrics followed extensive research by Sarah Burton and her team.

The Royal School of Needlework

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN), based at Hampton Court Palace, assisted the Alexander McQueen team in accurately cutting out the delicate motifs from the lace fabrics and positioning the lace motifs with precision into the new design. The lace motifs were pinned, ‘framed up’ and applied with stab stitching every two to three millimetres around each lace motif. The workers washed their hands every thirty minutes to keep the lace and threads pristine, and the needles were renewed every three hours, to keep them sharp and clean.

The RSN workers included existing staff, former staff, tutors, graduates and students, with the youngest aged 19.

The RSN’s work was used primarily for the train and skirt of the Bride’s dress, the bodice and sleeves, the Bride’s shoes and the Bride’s veil.

Veil and Jewellery

The veil is made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers, which was embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework. The veil is held in place by a Cartier ‘halo’ tiara, lent to Miss Middleton by The Queen. The ‘halo’ tiara was made by Cartier in 1936 and was purchased by The Duke of York (later King George VI) for his Duchess (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) three weeks before he succeeded his brother as King. The tiara was presented to Princess Elizabeth (now The Queen) by her mother on the occasion of her 18th birthday.

The Bride’s earrings, by Robinson Pelham, are diamond-set stylised oak leaves with a pear shaped diamond set drop and a pavé set diamond acorn suspended in the centre. Inspiration for the design comes from the Middleton family’s new coat of arms, which includes acorns and oak leaves. The earrings were made to echo the tiara. The earrings were a personal gift to the Bride from her parents for her Wedding Day.

Robinson Pelham have also designed and made a pair of diamond earrings for Miss Philippa Middleton. These earrings are more floral in nature to compliment the headpiece worn by Miss Philippa Middleton during the Service.

A tourmaline and diamond pendant and matching earrings have been designed and made for Mrs. Carole Middleton. Two gold stick pins, one with a single gold acorn at the head and the other with an oak leaf, are also worn respectively by the Father of the Bride, Mr. Michael Middleton, and the Bride’s brother, Mr. James Middleton.

Wedding Shoes

The wedding shoes have made hand-made by the team at Alexander McQueen and are made of ivory duchesse satin with lace hand-embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

This is not a secret, the key to keeping your skin looking younger is at your food intake. Many of us just ignore this fact and spend tons of money on face creams and treatments and even though many of those creams and treatments can help you, imagine what they would do if you changed your meals to benefit your skin as well.

Here are some foods that can help you keep that skin looking young and fresh:

Low-Fat Dairy Products. Vitamin A is one of the most important intake for a healthy skin. We can get them in low-fat dairy products. Experts say that the health of our skin cells is dependent on dietary vitamin A.

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums. High antioxidant foods. The benefits of these foods for healthy skin are incredible.

Salmon, Walnuts, Canola Oil, and Flax Seed. These foods all deliver essential fatty acids. They are key foods for healthy skin.

Whole-wheat bread, muffins, and cereals, turkey, tuna and brazil nuts. The mineral selenium connects all these foods for healthy skin. Experts say selenium plays a key role in the health of skin cells.

Green Tea. The skin-health properties in this beneficial drink just can’t be beat.

Water. Good hydration plays in keeping skin looking healthy and even young.

With so many beautiful creative hairstyles now and days, why keep that same boring look we have for years?

Some of us fear change. We keep the same hairstyle because we know it works for us and then comes the “if” on the wish to change, what “if” it doesn’t work for me? The simplest answer to that is, you can always change or grow it back. If we don’t try it we’ll never know what could have been!
Long or short, you have so many choices that it’s hard to pick a favorite hairstyle. I suggest for you to go to a good professional for the best result. You can find images of great hairstyles over the internet or in magazines. Give those images to your hairdresser and get their opinion on what could work for you.

Positive attitude is a must and thinking negative before or during the haircut won’t let you see the positive change. You just might be surprised at the difference a simple haircut can do to freshen you up and make you look younger and confident.

Some of my favorite hairstyle changes for me this year:

Michelle Williams in her short pixie look, Kirsten Dunst with a medium bob looks cute and pretty, Sandra Bullock with heavy bangs and of course Jennifer Aniston’s medium hairstyle and fresh color.

One of the most beautiful woman of all times, Liz Taylor was born Dame Elizabeth Rosemond, in February 27, a British-American actress. She became one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Liz was known from her distinct acting ability and her violet eyes.

In 1965, she tried to renounce her United States citizenship, to wit: “Though never accepted by the State Department. Attempting to shield much of her European income from U.S. taxes, Elizabeth wished to become solely a British citizen. According to news reports at the time, officials denied her request when she failed to complete the renunciation oath, refusing to say that she renounced “all allegiance to the United States of America”.

Before the beginning of World War II, her parents decided to return to the United States to avoid hostilities. Her mother took the children first, arriving in New York in April 1939, while her father remained in London to end his business later arriving in November. They moved to Los Angeles, California – where her father opened a new art gallery. The gallery attracted many Hollywood celebrities. According to Walker, the gallery “opened many doors for the Taylors, leading them directly into the society of money and prestige”.

She acted in many great movies, her first success was National Velvet (1944). She also starred in Father of the Bride (1950), A Place in the Sun (1951), Giant (1956), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), and Suddenly, Last Summer (1959). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Butterfield 8 (1960), Cleopatra (1963) and so on.

Her personal life included eight marriages. When asked why she married so often, she replied, “I don’t know, honey. It sure beats the hell out of me,” she also said that, “I was taught by my parents that if you fall in love, if you want to have a love affair, you get married. I guess I’m very old-fashioned.”

Conrad “Nicky” Hilton (May 6, 1950 – January 29, 1951): A young hotel heir. MGM staff designed Taylor’s wedding dress and honeymoon outfits. Hilton’s “gambling, drinking, and abusive behavior”, caused Liz a miscarriage, and ended the marriage in divorce after nine months.

Michael Wilding (February 21, 1952 – January 26, 1957): The “gentle” Wilding, 20 years older than Taylor. After their divorce Taylor admitted that “I gave him rather a rough time, sort of henpecked him and probably wasn’t mature enough for him.”

Michael Todd (February 2, 1957 – March 22, 1958): Todd’s death ended Taylor’s only marriage not to result in divorce.

Eddie Fisher (May 12, 1959 – March 6, 1964): Fisher, Todd’s best friend, consoled Taylor after Todd’s death. They began an affair while Fisher was still married to Debbie Reynolds.

Richard Burton (March 15, 1964 – June 26, 1974): The Vatican condemned Burton and Taylor’s affair, which began when both were married.

Richard Burton (October 10, 1975 – July 29, 1976): Sixteen months after divorcing, however they separated and re-divorced in 1976.

John Warner (December 4, 1976 – November 7, 1982): Taylor married a Republican US Senator from Virginia

Larry Fortensky (October 6, 1991 – October 31, 1996): Taylor and Fortensky met during one of her stay at the Betty Ford Clinic and were married at the Neverland Ranch, the known ranch of her close friend Michael Jackson.

Taylor had many romances outside her marriages. Before marrying Hilton she was engaged to both Heisman Trophy winner Glenn Davis, and the son of William D. Pawley, the United States Ambassador to Brazil. Other dates included Frank Sinatra, Henry Kissinger, and Malcolm Forbes. In 2007, Taylor denied rumors of a ninth marriage to her partner Jason Winters, but referred to him as “one of the most wonderful men I’ve ever known.”

Taylor had two sons, Michael Howard (born January 6, 1953) and Christopher Edward (born February 27, 1955), with Michael Wilding. She had a daughter, Elizabeth Frances “Liza” (born August 6, 1957), with Michael Todd. During her marriage to Eddie Fisher, Taylor started proceedings to adopt a two-year-old girl from Germany, Maria (born August 1, 1961); the adoption process was finalized in 1964 following their divorce. Burton later adopted Taylor’s daughters Liza and Maria.

At the time of her death, she was survived by her four children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

One of her passions was her jewelry collection, reportedly worth $150 million. She was a client of jewelry designer Shlomo Moussaieff. Over the years she owned a number of well-known pieces, two of the most famous being the 33.19-carat (6.64 g) Krupp Diamond, which Taylor wore daily ]and the 69.42-carat (13.88 g) pear-shaped Taylor-Burton Diamond; both were among many gifts from husband Richard Burton.

From the mid-1980s, Taylor championed HIV and AIDS programs; she co-founded the American Foundation for AIDS Research in 1985 and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1993. She received the Presidential Citizens Medal, the Legion of Honour, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and a Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute, who named her seventh on their list of the “Greatest American Screen Legends”.

Taylor was hospitalized more than 70 times, and had at least 20 major operations. Many times newspaper headlines erroneously announced that Taylor was close to death; she herself only claimed to have almost died on four occasions. She died of congestive heart failure at the age of 79.

She was without a doubt one remarkable woman, a Hollywood’s true star.
